By Margaret John; House of Assembly Correspondent

A Cross River State gubernatorial aspirant from the All Progressives Congress APC, Mr. John Upan Odey has accused the State House of Assembly of being a rubber stamp to the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade.

He made the accusation while fielding questions from members of the Association of Cross River Online Journalists (ACROJ), where he maintained that there is a complete collapse in the democratic principle of separation of powers in the current administration.

Mr. Upan Odey, further added that the State 2018 budget of Kinetic Crystallization of 1.3 Trillion Naira is ‘madness’.

He concluded by assuring that if given the chance to govern the State, he’ll be more pragmatic.

This issue is not just peculiar to Cross River State it affect all the states in Nigeria. They rejected Local Government Autonomy APC states across our nation cannot even support it. Please your criticism should be constructive APC states houses of Assemblies have nothing to show likewise The PDP states so its a general problems. I will advice the ruling party to start it first by allowing States houses of assemblies to be autonomous like the Nigeria Senate.
