Association Of Cross River Online Journalists Gets INEC Accreditation To Observe, Report Obudu Bye-Election

The Association of Cross River Online Journalists (ACROJ), has been accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to observe, cover and report the forthcoming Obudu State Constituency bye-election into the House of Assembly.

The accreditation came following an application by the Association dated 24th July, 2018 titled “Request for Accreditation to Observer/Cover the Bye-Election into Obudu State Constituency of Cross River State”.

Part of the accreditation materials given to the union members include ID Cards, a brochure of the ten (10) Obudu ward collation centers, which are Alege/Ubang (Health Center Okikwo), Angiaba/Begiaka (Primary School Ibong), Begiading (Secondary School Ohong), Ipong (Comprehensive Secondary School Ipong), and Urban 1 (St. Stephen Primary School).

Others are Urban II (Primary School Okwel Obudu), Ukpe (Comprehensive Secondary School), Utugwang Central (St. Colman Primary School), Utugwang North (Community Secondary School) and Utugwang South (Primary School Ukpala). While the final Constituency collation center is INEC Area Office Obudu near old NITEL road.

Also details of the one hundred and seven (107) polling units and contacts of INEC Cross River State staff as well as security personnels on election duty was contained in the brochure.

INEC scheduled the election for Saturday, August 15, 2018, following the death of Hon. Stephen Ukpukpen.
