BREAKING: Three Communities Burnt In Renewed Boundary War In Biase

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Information reaching CrossRiverWatch indicate that the communal war between neighbouring communities in Erei North in Biase LGA, Southern Cross River State, has been renewed.

A source in the LGA informed this reporter that “this morning (Sunday) at 2:00a.m, Urugbam had attacked and burnt down 3 communities of Ipene, Ebor and Umoro. And still planning to attack Ibini.”

Our source claimed that, “The armed men from Urugbam attacked with sophisticated rifles and hand grenades.”, adding that “The policemen there have been outnumbered and the situation is beyond them.”

As at the time of filing this report, our newsroom is yet to independently confirm the incidents.

The State Command PPRO, Irene Ugbo couldn’t be reached for comments as several phone calls to her phone were not answered.

The Divisional Police Officer DPO, in charge of Biase Division, DSP Bassey Obeten, confirmed the fresh outbreak of crises but declined commenting and directed our reporter to the State PRO. She said, “You know I’m not qualified to talk, call PPRO”.
