1. As with social distancing, you can NEVER get everyone to comply with the use of face mask.
And there are clear exemptions — children under 2 years, people with respiratory illness (non COVID19) with certain levels of breathing difficulties, people with certain chronic illness that leaves them desaturated (natural shortness of breath), asthmatics, people who may be allergic to certain fabrics, etc.
THEN, THERE ARE THE BORN DEFIANTS (THE DONALD TRUMP COUSINS) — THOSE WHO OWN A N100 FACE MASK BUT WILL HATE TO WEAR IT, UNLESS, AND UNTIL THERE ARE APPROACHING A CHECK POINT (MUCH LIKE THEIR OTHER COUSINS WHO ONLY STRAP ON THEIR SIT BELT WHEN THERE ARE APPROACHING A POLICE CHECK POINT).
And to think that this face mask brouhaha only reigns supreme in two Local Government of Cross River — Calabar Municipality and South LGA.🤷♂️🤷♂️ Who is fooling who🙆♂️?
2. Not all person know how to properly wear, remove and care for their face mask. Not up to 20% of Cross Riverians.
During any or all of these process, they can easily contaminate themselves (especially their hands), and if they are already sold to the death-dealing dogma of #OnlyTheMaskSaves and fail to practice #AppropriateHandWashing, they will spread the virus with ignorant, careless-as-reckless abandon, infecting common contact surfaces like door handles, ATM machines, POS machines, etc. And the rest of the faithful mask adorning citizens who pay no heed to hand washing, will make contact with such contaminated surfaces and then boldly reach for their face and rub their eyes with hands reeking with blood thirsty 🦠 (yes, them) — AND THE MAN DIED!
Basking in their fictitious faith they will also shake hands with other ignorant unbelievers of “SOCIAL DISTANCING,” spuriously led into believing in the “amazing grace” that is the face mask is. LET US PRAY!
3. Even with the most ardent adherents, no one can wear their face mask ALL of the time.
The most prominent promoters of #MaskTheMesiah proposition, have, in many occasions been caught #MaskDown e.g. when granting interviews, when they have to make or take a call, when they have to eat or drink bear, etc. Let’s suppose such a person is an asymptomatic carrier, during this momentary moment of let down of the “Guard-Of-Salvation #TheContaminationContinues. They will infect their surroundings and leave it for other face mask wearing citizens to pick up — IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
So what is the BEST prevention strategy?
It is a cocktail of actions.
1. Social distancing
2. Hand washing
3. Cleaning of surfaces (continuous decontamination)
4. Face mask
