The Governor of Cross River, Sen. Ben Ayade, has given nod for the constitution of 8-man Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy for the State.
A letter dated May 11 2020, signed by Jumbo, Margaret Unyalachie, Personal Secretary to the Governor, titled, “Re-Constitution of the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy,” addressed to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Cross River State, Barrister Tanko Ashang.
It reads in part, “I write on the directive of His Excellency, Sen. Ben Ayade, Governor of Cross River State, to refer to your letter N0. MOJ/AG/COM/101/VOL. X1/182, dated 15th April, 2020, on the above subject matter and hereby forward the underlisted names as approved by His Excellency the Governor to you for Re-Constitution of the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy.”
The new Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy has Barr. Emmanuel Enamhe as Chairman, while Mr. Elias Ayeshung is to serve as the Secretary of the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy in the State.
Other to serve as members include, Very Rev. Fr. Malachy Ephraim, Dr. Josef Effiom, Compol Lawrence Eko Alobi (rtd), Mrs. Blessing Agbara, Mr. Emmanuel Bekeh Udama and Adjah Enun Adjah.
