Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mba Ukweni, has praised the efforts of Concerned Lawyers in Cross River State over the ongoing peaceful protest aimed at weeding out the parasites clogging the wheels of the judiciary.
Mba, a native of Biase LGA lauded their tenacity and assured that their complains will be met, if not, they should occupy the streets.
The senior lawyer who gave the assurance while addressing protesters at the State Judicial Headquarters along Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar disclosed that, there will be a meeting with judges and other leadership.
“What you have started is what would have been done before now if there is cooperation among the leadership of the three branches of the NBA within Cross River State.
“For now, let me appeal to all of you, the Concerned Lawyers that you have done enough; go and rest. We are going to have a meeting this evening (Tuesday) and once we are done, we will get in touch with your leadership about the outcome of the meeting. We will also have a meeting with the judges and you will also know the outcome.”
The SAN berated the State Attorney General, Barrister Tanko Ashang. His words, “Whoever has ears and eyes should hear and see. I have seen and heard what your complains are but I expected that the Attorney General of Cross River State who is the official leader of your official park, should have come to address you people and convey your message officially to the Governor of Cross River State.”
