UCTH Chief Consultant Neurosurgeon Is Dead, Authority, Family Argue Over Circumstance Of Death

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Chief Consultant Neurosurgeon in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) Dr. Mathias O. Nnadi is dead.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital where he works yesterday.

UCTH authorities have said the doctor died of COVID-19 related symptoms and have requested all doctors and medical workers who attended to him to self isolate.

A family source told CrossRiverWatch that the doctor “died of acute asthmatic attack yesterday following lack of emergency ambulance to rush to his aid at 8 Miles, Calabar, when he had the usual asthma attack.

“The only ambulance in Accident and Emergency (A & E) has had a bad tyre for more than a month without repairs, while the hospital authority is only using COVID-19 to save face.”
