Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has asked Cross River PDP delegates to join him in restoring the party to power in the State.
Atiku, who was in Calabar during the weekend to continue his nationwide consultation, said there is a need to give the country a shot in the arm, and he is the right person to do that.
The former Vice President said he is in the race to free the country from the dungeons of economic backwardness, pleading with the delegates to support him to do that, and many more.
His words, “Let us bring back PDP to Cross River, APC is not your party. I promise to rebuild that unity we had when PDP was still in power. I will give every part of this country its right. No religion will be discriminated against.”
“I said in the 2019 election that I will fix the economy, PDP made the economy the number one in Africa. We can do it again, so let us have PDP back in Cross River and also in the country,” he said.
Barr. Venatius Ikem, PDP State Chairman earlier welcomed Atiku to the State.
“Your history in Cross River did not start today, it started long ago. And I know in the last election, you pulled many votes from Cross River. I assure you that in you we have a partnership,” Barr. Venatius said.
