The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Cross River has stated that it intends to challenge the results of the polls in the Northern Senatorial District in the State.
The State APC Chairman, Barrister Alphonsus Eba stated this during the week, insisting that they were irregularities observed during the the Cross River Northern Senatorial and House of Representatives elections and the party is looking into it.
Eba held that the polls were marred with violence and that the APC will legally get its stolen mandate back.
His words, “We are aware of what happened in the Northern and Central Districts of the State, but I am waiting for substantial reports. As a lawyer, I will look at all the evidence and see the ones to take to court.
“This is why I have not mentioned in detail specific Local Government Areas where electoral irregularities and violence against the electorate and officials of the APC were carried out.
“Our take is that electoral violence must be kept out, it will not be allowed by our own party members and when we find our own members wanting, we will hand them over to the security agencies,” he said.
The Yala-born politician added that the party is adding finishing touches to its preparation for the governorship polls, and encourage all members of the party to mobilize and give the party victory in March 11th.
