The National Chairman of Ugaga Family Union, Barrister Ugaga Tim has accused the Army of complicity in the Herdsmen and Yala farmers clash, saying they provide safe haven for the Fulani’s and their cattle.
Barrister Ugaga said that for the fracas to be properly dealt with some quarters and collaborators have to be held accountable for their role in the crisis.
He made the accusation while speaking recently on a radio program “The Dialogue With Agba Jalingo” which holds every Sunday 6-7 PM on Hit 95.9 FM Calabar.
“For this thing to be stemmed in the root some collaborators must be dealt with or asked to put their hands off this issue, like the barrack in Ogoja. There are over half a million Fulani’s harbored there but the combine effect of the Armed Forces Law and the relevant standing operational procedure, no army is allowed to keep a pet but they allow pets and even cattle in the barrack.” Barrister Ugaga said.
