The Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke has just made his first public appearance since November 6, 2012 at the start of an ongoing friendly match between Nigeria’s Under 17 national team, the Golden Eaglets and their Botswana counterpart at the U.J. Esuene stadium in Calabar.
Crossriverwatch had earlier reported exclusively that governor Imoke and his wife, Obioma will be gracing the match which kicked off at 4pm.
A crossriverwatch reporter at the stadium reports that the governor, spoting a navy blue suit on a blue striped long sleeves; on a blue jeans and an Adidas branded face cap, arrived the stadium a few minutes to 4pm to the ecstatic welcome of a very warm crowd.
Unlike what was widely expected, the governor seem to have added more weight in the photographs, as he went round exchanging pleasantries with the technical crew and the players before the commencement of action.
As at the time of filing this report, the match was still goalless.
Crossriverwatch will continue to bring you details of events as they unfold from the stadium. Follow our live feeds @crossriverwatch.
