Cross River Nollywood super star, Kate Henshaw is gearing up for the Federal House of Representatives seat for Calabar Municipal/Odukpani presently occupied by another Amazon, Hon. Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo. In this interview with Sahara TV, she speaks on what her plans are for her political sojourn.

Excerpts:

Are you quitting acting for politics?

Well, I will take a break to serve a larger population of Nigerians. I won’t quit. Arnold Schwarzenegger was governor and he is back to acting again. You take time off, you serve your people. I don’t hope to be there forever. But I just want to leave, make noise and leave when the ovation is loudest. I am not going to be there for ten years, twelve years, fifteen years, just for four/eight years. I want to do other things. That is the limit. You can hold me to my words.

You mean you don’t want to exceed four to eight years?

Ehn Ehn, there has to be another person who will go through the process, who will want to try. That is the problem; too many people stay in one place for so long and other people lose hope and say why do I have to try? So let someone start getting the knowledge now. I will help whoever is in the system in Cross River state to come with me, go through the process, meet the leaders and whoever; get ready to take your chance because nobody is going to come and pick you. You have to push your head inside there.

Another question is whether you are prepared, whether you have enough money to go into politics?

There is no money. I can’t match people that have been in the system for 20/30 years. I am going with God and my heart.

But do you know what characterizes the Nigerian political system, it is sharing the money. Are you ready to share?

I am not sharing any money. Let me tell you, if you continue sharing money, it will never stop. If they want true change, then vote for me and you will see the change but if you want money, go for the money and stay where you are and don’t ever complain.

So what strategy do you intend to use if you don’t have money to share?

I don’t want to tell you my strategy, this is national TV

Tell Kate Henshaw to stop bragging about not sharing morning. Are they not the same people (Nollywood Actors) going to Aso Rock and Govt House Calabar to collect money from politicians. Now that she wants to venture into politics, she’s not willing to path with money. If she wins, it is only because Obioma Imoke used her husband’s power to put her there, not because u will perform any miracle.
