Cross Riverians and other Nigerians plying the Calabar – Ikom – Ogoja, and Ogoja – Obudu Ranch Resort roads can now heave a sigh of relief as the road is one of the priority projects of the new administration of Senator Ben Ayade.
The new Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben. Ayade has promised that the dualization of the roads and the establishment of a state owned sea port in Calabar will be his signature projects that are going to receive top priority and will be completed in the first four years of his administration.
Ayade disclosed that the dualization of the said roads which are all federal high ways, but have become a nightmare to travelers, will drastically reduce the hours of traveling between the State capital and the central and northern parts of the State.
He agreed that times are tough as a result of the dwindling federal allocation, but reassured that he was committed to walk the whole length of the rough road and that at the end, Cross River will arrive the desired destination.
Ayade who spent just five minutes to complete both the oath of office and allegiance asserted that the signature projects will help transform the economic base of the State and make transportation across the State pleasurable.
