Reports reaching CrossRiverWatch indicate that the six week old industrial action of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU Federal College of Education FCE Obudu chapter has been called off.

Sources say the academic staff have been directed to resume work on Monday, August 17, 2015 after the management signed an agreement with the union leaders to pay arrears of salaries in a few months.

Efforts to get official comments from the management were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report as top management officials had closed with the College community still mourning the loss of the acting Bursar.

CrossRiverWatch reported recently that the union embarked on the strike due to the inability of the school management to fulfil the promises made to them when they called off their seven months strike last year concerning the payment of arrears.

The strike had put on hold the scheduled examinations of the Degree Program Unit of the institution.
