The former member representing Ogoja/Yala federal constituency in the national assembly, Peter Igbodo was on Saturday morning kidnapped in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

The former lawmaker was kidnapped at Victor’s Gym opposite a first generation bank located along Ndidem Usang-Iso road in the morning where he was exercising but was released a few hours later.
As at press time, it was still unclear whether a ransom was demanded or paid before the Ogoja born politician regained his freedom.
Calls to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Irene Ugbo did not connect as at the time of filing this report.
His kidnapped comes a week after Hit FM Managing Director, Patrick Ugbe was kidnapped and released about 48 hours after.
UPDATE: An eyewitness (names withheld) told CrossRiverWatch Monday that the kidnappers raided the gym with guns and seized cash, phones and other collectibles from all who were present.
