The Clan Head of Ugaga, HRH Ogamode Ogar Ipuole and the Community Youth Leader, Mr. Ogaji Oko Ogaji have been detained at the Police headquarters Calabar for some days now for interrogation following the missing head and limb of a dead herdsman who was killed in a reprisal attack. Two other Fulani herdsmen were also reported missing.

The disclosure was made to CrossRiverWatch by the State Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Irene Ugbo on phone.

Our newsroom reliably learnt that the Police resolved (Thursday) to give them two weeks to provide the person(s) who allegedly killed the Fulani herdsman, an allegation the Ugaga community denies.

What will become of the two if the alleged killer is not produced within the said period is unknown.

It will be recalled that, a forthnight ago, a Fulani herdsman was said to have attacked a farmer in his farm in Ugaga in Yala Local Government Area of the State, chopping of the farmers wrist and resulting in increased tension between the two groups and the State Government subsequently deploying security agents to the area to quell the tensions.

As at the time of filing this report, they were still in Police custody.
