The Cross River State Water Board Limited has announced the appointment of nine general managers (GM) for its substations across the state.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the acting Managing Director, Dr. Stephen Odey which said the Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has “approved the decentralization of the operations of Cross River State Water Board to make the substations self-accounting and ensure efficiency in service delivery.”
The Akamkpa, Calabar, Ikom, Itigidi, Obubra, Obudu, Ogoja, Okpoma and Ugep/Ediba water substations are now to be headed by a new GM.
They are:
Akamkpa Water Board – Edwin Asuquo
Calabar Water Board – Barr. Bassey Mensah
Ikom Water Board – Mr. Joseph Abung
Itigidi Water Board – Engr. Bassey Echemi
Obubra Water Board – Hon. Kingsley Okpah
Obudu Water Board – Mr. Mike Ojie
Ogoja Water Board – Chief Igbaji Monkom
Okpoma Water Board – Ogar Emmanuel Ojugbo
Ugep/Ediba Water Board – Hon. Osong Etowa.
The new general managers are expected to meet with Mr. Odey at the conference room of the corporate headquarters in Calabar on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 the statement added.
There have been complaints about the efficiency of the board which pumped out colored water for residents in the city of Calabar earlier in the year.
The then managing director, Odu Igile said colored water did not necessarily mean it was unhealthy.
