Cross River APC, SDP Lash Ayade Over Budget Of Qabalistic Densification

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

The Cross River State Budget of Qabalistic Densification of One Trillion, Forty-Three Billion, Nine Hundred and Sixty Seven Million Naira (N1, 043,967,000,000) presented recently by the State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade to the House of Assembly has received lashes from a section of the public with major opposition parties fisting on it.

The Social Democratic Party Governorship candidate, Barrister Eyo Ekpo referred to it as “a sham, a deceptive drama and the great deceit against the people of Cross River State.”

Mr. Eyo Ekpo made his position known in a media parley, at the SDP Secretariat in Calabar.

According to him, “”The budget for the year 2019 that is to run from January to December 31st as mentioned by the Governor is a complete sham. It is the height of the wicked deceit against the people of Cross River State. What the Governor sought to do with the drama he enacted on Friday in the House of Assembly was simply an act of diversion, an act that was designed to receive the people and take their attention away from the failure of this administration, from the absence of substance to this Government and placelessness of his tenure so far.

“Standing before the House of Assembly and speaking without a prepared speech, he (Ayade) made very expensive and grandiosity grammar, all of which do not have any meaning whatsoever. What will the House of Assembly debate, discuss and pass as budget?” he questioned.

Also, in a press release by the APC Publicity Secretary Bassey Ita described the budget saying “It has a semblance of hallucination which in our consideration, is an effect of substance indulgence. The 2019 budget document as presented failed to review the performance of last year’s budget as well as provide for the policy direction of Government in the coming year.

“From the foregoing, there’s every iota of conviction that the current budget as presented by Governor Ayade was defective in every sense of the word. Some persons just woke up one morning and decided to cover the shame of the delay in budget presentation and then commenced the preparation of a draft of what the income and expenditure profile should look like. This is an indication of hallucination which creates an environment of make-believe.

“There was nothing tangible to show for the huge fiscal provision for last year. The economy did not get better; infrastructure deficit was still the talk of the town neither was there any semblance of improvement in the living conditions of the people of the State.

“The Superhighway was still in its groundbreaking stage, the deep seaport was still in the minds of the initiators neither was there any social investment program of note that the PDP government embarked upon from the over N1 trillion budget throughout last year.” Ita maintained.

He concludes saying that, “Capable of going the way of last year’s having begun with serious signs of defectiveness both in terms of presentation and grammatical expression. This is the reason we conclude that Governor Ayade has by this singular flawed presentation further exposed the State to ridicule.’’
