Cross River State first Private University, Arthur Jarvis Akpabuyo has rusticated nine students.
The students after appearing before the school’s disciplinary committee were found guilty of violating rules and regulations of the school by abusing drug and engaging in other negative activities.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ani Nkang, “the institution has zero tolerance policy for drugs and banned substances, a number of young people leave their various homes for the first time to be domiciled in the university.
“It is the responsibility of the University authorities to protect such students from these vices. Several of these students were cautioned and counseled without effect. Consequently, the University has no choice but to expel them,” he added.
Prof. Nkang further advice the students on campus to abide by the rules and regulations enshrined in the University Code of Conduct.
Though the names of the rusticated students were yet to be gotten as at the time of filing this report.
