UCTH Resident Doctors Write Management Over Suspension Of Strike

The Association of Resident Doctors, UCTH Chapter has written to the management of the hospital over suspension of strike.

The union in a letter signed by the President and Secretary, Dr. Echeng Imoke and Dr. Ucheji Okechukwu respectively.

Except from the letter:

“Following the Emergency General Meeting held today the 12th of April 2019, the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD-UCTH) has officially asked her Members to resume work following the suspension of the indefinite strike action embarked on the 18th of March 2019.

“This is premised on the fact that members have started receiving a percentage of our salary shortfall arrears of 2014-2016 (one tranche) being the minimum requirement for our demands as reappraised by the congress.

“The EXCO appeals to members that it will continue to constructively engage management on the remaining demands and ensure those demands are met.

“The Congress appreciates the Chief Medical Director and the entire management of UCTH on their efforts in resolving this impasse.

“Accept assurances of our esteemed regards.” It ends.
