The Grand Commander of the Armed Forces and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his commitment to eradicate violence against children in the year 2030.
He made this commitment today in a Presidential Speech read by the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ivara Esu, at the U.J Esuene stadium in Calabar, in commemoration of the ‘Children’s Day Celebration.’
In this year’s children day celebration message themed, “Drug Abuse Among Children: Addressing The Challenges,” President Buhari restated his administration’s commitment to the promotion of children’s rights, even as he promises to reflect on Government roles and responsibilities towards actualizing and improving children’s rights and wellbeing in his second term.
The President threatened to prosecute and jail anyone caught violating the rights of children, even as he advised the wards to obey their teachers and guidance instruction.
