Ayade To Commence Construction Of Police Posts In Boundary Dispute Communities

The Governor, of Cross River state, Senator Ben Ayade, has directed the immediate construction of police posts and barracks in all boundary dispute areas across the state with immediate effect.

This was disclosed recently during a visit of the clan Heads and leaders of Okom communities in Obubra LGA consisting of Iyamitet, Iyamoyong, Okumoritet and Apiapum, to the Chairman, Cross River state Task force on Security, Comrade Asu Okang to press home their demand for a police post following the incessant clashes with the neighboring Adon communties.

Earlier, Comrade Asu also hosted leaders of Osopong led by Chief Ernest Irek, where a decision was reached on the construction of mobile police barracks and a major post at Idoro 1&2 to curb the constant invasion and attacks by the Izzi in Ebonyi state.

Also to benefit from the first phase include of the exercise.

1. Interstate police post/barracks at Adadama/Ikwo.

2. Police post at Usumutong/Ebom/Ebijakara.

3. Onyadama/Nko boundary police post to be constructed at Inyima Junction.

4. Ukelle/Izzi interstate police post/barracks.

5. Obudu/Benue police post.

A comprehensive list of approved police posts will be published in due course, Asu promised the leaders.
