By CrossRiverWatch Admin

A man said to be in his early forties has given up the ghost after pumping his stomach with herbs in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

PARADISE NEWS learnt that the man identified simply as Mr. Etuma from Abia State, currently residing at Ediba, Qua Town in Calabar Municipality local government, died Friday, 4th October, 2019, afternoon inside a vehicle while waiting for his CT scan result at Arubah Specialist Hospital, Atekong, Calabar.

A family source who doesn’t want her name in print told our Correspondent that Mr. Etuma has been battling with constipation since Monday, September 30, 2019, after pumping his stomach from the herbs prescribed by an unidentified woman who is at large.

“Etuma is battling low sperm count problem since he married his second wife. His first wife died about 3 years ago after giving birth to his first son, – she slumped and was confirmed dead at the hospital few weeks after giving birth through Cesarean Section (CS). Since then, the man has been unable to remarry. But as God has it for him, he finally got married last year.

“He has been battling with low sperm count and that has generated a lot of issues with the new wife. He was advised by the family who stays in the same compound with him to consult a herbal doctor for remedy. He sure did and was given a particular (unidentified) leaf to use. He used it and was pumping through his anus with a Fly-Rite stomach pump. Him and his wife did pump, but things started unravelling in his body, he was unable to stool for 4 days. When the problem persisted, they had to rush him to the hospital where he was advised to run a scan”, the source said.

She continued, “While waiting for the scan result which was taking too long, he was asked by his family to go and rest in the car since he was already feeling uncomfortable, only for them to find out that he is dead. It’s quite a painful and avoidable death. I am just pitying his 3-year-old child who is now an orphan”.

At the time of filing this report, PARADISE NEWS gathered that Etuma has been taken by members of his immediate family, including his wife to his home town in Abia State to be buried.

Until his death, Etuma works at Crunches Fast Food, Calabar. He is the only son of his parents.
