Aviation security at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar, the Cross River capital are battling with angry passengers of Aero Contractors after their flight was cancelled at the last minute.
Staff are currently locked in a safe room to ensure the visibly angry passengers do not lynch them.
Sources say there was no prior warning about the situation.
Aero Contractors currently operates the Calabar-Lagos and Calabar-Abuja routes with two Boeing 737’s purchased by the Cross River State Government.
It is currently unclear whether the cancellation is connected to the protest of the aviation commissioner to a bank earlier in the week.
