Lagos bound passengers of Aero Cally are currently stranded at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar following the failure of Flight N2123 from Abuja to land after being cleared to do so.
Aero Cally is a contraption of Aero Contractors, an existing airline and Cally Air, the proposed airline of the Cross River State government. It utilizes two Boeing 737-300s procured by the State.
Aero contractors basically run the operations while the State is focused on the promotion with reported lapses once in a while.
And, Lagos bound passengers are currently stranded after the flight from Abuja failed to land despite the Air Traffic Controller clearing it to do so.
A similar incident weeks ago had sparked a bitter argument with the airline refunding passengers after a flight was cancelled.
The airport does not have instrument landing systems installed which has been its bane especially during bad weather.
Aviation data shows that the flight which was supposed to depart Abuja at 3:10PM, delayed for over an hour and failed to touchdown at the anticipated time with the pilots currently navigating back to Abuja.
Sources say, this is the second time in 6 days an Aero Cally flight from Abuja has failed to land.
On Tuesday, September 14th, a similar incident happened and after circling the airspace around Calabar about thrice, the plane returned to Abuja.
This comes on the heels of an advert calling for recruitment into he airline.
