The All Progressives Congress in Cross River has assured it will give serious attention to young people aspiring to govern the State.
Chairman of the party in the State, Barrister Alphonsus Eba in an interview revealed that the party has slashed the cost of its nomination form by 50% down to N25m only for those below 40 aspiring to govern the State.
Speaking in Calabar, Eba said, “Our party is for young people. It is a party for the new generation of servant-leaders. Governor Benedict Ayade has brought an army of young men that will take over leadership positions from him.”
Barrister Eba also informed that the APC in the State also resolved to give out forms to female aspirants free of charge.
“At our party, we are giving contestants a 50% discount, that is to young people under age 40. So if you are a young person below 40 years, the price of forms for you is 25 million for governorship, for young people who are females, our form is free.”
He said the party was able to push the position during its NEC meeting, stressing that Cross River should be a shining example for others.
He called on younger Cross Riverians to take the bull by the horn and prepare for next year’s election.
