The Cross River State All Progressive Congress, APC, consensus candidate for the 2023 governorship election, Sen. Bassey Otu has commended Sen. Owan Enoh’s decision to step down and support him.

In a letter addressed to Owan yesterday, Prince Otu said, “It is with utmost humility and gratitude that I write to commend your historic and groundbreaking decision to pull out of the gubernatorial race in support of the consensus nomination.

“It’s not surprising, given our long-standing friendship and very cordial relationship, which spans years back in the National Assembly and has remained unwavering. I am happy today, it has paid off.”

Otu further lauded the Etung born-politician and other aspirants who have heeded the supremacy of the party and pledged to deliver and carry everyone along.

“Your decision, without doubt, is from an honest and deep love for our dear State, posterity, and our great party. It will be on record that you stood tall and strong at such a time as this. History will never forget this.

“Let me reassure you my dear distinguished that, I am holding the mandate in trust for you and other co-aspirants, and I am confident that with your partnership and cooperation, we will win the general elections convincingly. I appreciate and respect your sportsmanship and team spirit, together we will build the Cross River of our dreams.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Bassey Otu in a separate statement described the news that he was not cleared by the party’s Screening Committee as lies from the pit of hell. He called on his supporters to remain calm that he has been cleared.
