By Sylvia Akpan

Atycare Initiative, a non-profit making organization, has marked its 4th anniversary in Calabar, Cross River State.

The organization which started four years ago has reached out to over four thousand six hundred (4,600) people, especially children of less privilege in public schools across the state.

Atim Eso, the Executive Director of Atycare Initiative said the journey has not been easy but it has been the most significant moment of her life.

“The journey didn’t start smoothly but grace made it possible today. I am over proud of what the Atycare Initiative has been able to achieve in the last four years and I’m asking good individuals and corporate organizations to support our vision to help out-of-school children return to school and become productive and functional adults.”

She thanked those who have been the backbone of the organization even as she called for more volunteers.

Mr. Ugi Augustine, Chairman  Board of Trustees (BoT) of the organization expressed satisfaction with the work his team has done, noting: “We want to do more in the coming years. With the support of everyone, we will keep pushing our limits to reach more women, young people, and children who dropped out of school.”

The Human Resource Manager, Glory Emmanuel said over 5,000 writing materials and school uniforms, as well as school fees, have been paid for children whose parents and caregivers are not able to cater for, enjoining all and sundry to support the initiative.
