A new Commissioner of Police has been posted to Cross River State. He is CP Sule Balarabe from Kano State.

He is replacing former CP, Aminu Alhassan. Before his promotion to Commissioner, Balarabe was Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Department of Operations, in Kano State.

Balarabe was appointed Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta Gaya by the late Emir of Gaya, Ibrahim Abdulkadir in 2021.

Balarabe will be taking over a State where in the last few months crime rate has nosedived.

A day before he was replaced, in what looked like a valedictory talk, his predecessor, Alhassan who was at a private radio station, Sparkling FM, said the major crime in the State is cultism, followed by kidnapping and that his tenure was able to make the State safer.
