CrossRiverWatch Admits Industrial Training Students From UNICROSS, Enjoin Them To Be Open To Learn New Things

By Etido Okon

The foremost investigative media outfit in Cross River State, CrossRiverWatch has admitted a new set of Industrial Training (IT) students.

As it is a tradition for higher institutions to send out students of various departments for industrial attachment to get practical experience as part of mandatory course fulfillment, the online media outlet admitted a few students from the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Calabar campus.

From the Department of Mass Communication and Computer Science respectively,

the industrial trainees were enjoined to make judicious use of the short time they have and explore the world of information gathering and dissemination at its best.

Briefing the students, the Managing Editor of CrossRiverWatch, Mr. Jeremiah Archibong welcomed and advised them to be open-minded as they would learn and unlearn the rudiments of investigative journalism, general reporting, and other areas of mass communication.

Intimating them on CrossRiverWatch being a community media outfit and an online media that uses technology advancement at its best, they were further advised to be of good character and be ready to accept corrections as it is through corrections that people learn and should feel free to ask questions in any area not elucidated.

Also admonishing the students, the organisation’s IT Coordinator, Patrick Obia encouraged them to grab opportunities and tasks assigned to them, as well as be creative.

Patrick said it is an opportunity for them to have a clue of what the labor market looks like before the end of their four years program.
