The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Godwin Offiono Esq. has been declared the winner of Saturday’s House of Representatives elections for the Ogoja/Yala federal constituency.
He was declared winner moments ago by the returning officer, Dr. Wokasor Eni after polling 36,642 votes to beat his closest rival and incumbent, Hon. Jude Ngaji of the All Progressives Congress scored 32,964 votes.
The difference between the PDP and APC is 3,678 votes.
He polled over 47.8 percent of the 76,523 votes cast across the 21 wards in the two Local Government Areas while Ngaji polled 43 percent of the votes.
A total of 78,074 out of the 236,635 registered voters were accredited for the keenly contested polls.
