The incoming deputy governor of Cross River State, Hon. Peter Odey has stated that work without rest is inimical to maximum function of the body.
He shared his thoughts on the need to have maximum rest for optimum results on his Facebook wall.
According to him, rest is inevitable. “As humans, it is important to find rest. The body needs rest for you to work smart and achieve your goals in life. It is good to stretch yourself as a young person but it is not an error for you to rest. When you stretch so hard, get some time for rest.
“The body system needs adequate sleep and peace to function maximally. It is not an error for you to take some time off to rest. No. Never allow anyone to cajole you into believing that you have committed a crime because you decided to have time alone to think, meditate and recalibrate your mental state.” He opined.
Furthermore, he maintained that “Always understand that your life and your thought process need some time to rebuild and regain lost energy and vitality.
“There is no superhuman in life and destiny. You must rest for you to function well and live a life of peace, joy, and happiness. It is important that we always create a system that helps us find rest.”
He concluded by saying “Thank God and be happy with life. Happy New Week.”
