Cross River House Of Assembly Summons Nominated Commissioners, Mandated To Appear With six Documents

The Cross River State House of Assembly has summoned the 26 Commissioner nominees sent to the House by Governor Bassey Otu.

In beating the 60 days deadline of presenting his proposed commissioners, Governor Otu a few days ago transmitted 26 names to the Assembly for consideration.

The Assembly in a press release signed and issued by the Principal Legislative Officer who doubles as Committee Clerk, for the Clerk of the House – Ukukong Augustine, also mandated the nominees to appear before the Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions and Conflict Resolution for screening on Monday, 31 July, 2023 at 9:am in the Mini-Auditorium of the Assembly Complex.

They are further advised to submit to the Committee detailed Curriculum Vitae, birth certificate or affidavit of age declaration; educational/professional certificates; certificate of Local Government Area of origin; tax clearance certificate for the past three (3) years preceding; evidence of party registration and any other relevant document(s).

The release urges them to submit the documents in (10) file jackets each on or before the screening date.

The release reads: “The under-listed Nominees of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State for confirmation of appointment as Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council are hereby requested to appear before the Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions and Conflict Resolution for screening on Monday, 31 July 2023 at 9. am in the Mini-Auditorium of the Assembly Complex.

“The nominees are to submit to the Committee the under-listed documents in ten (10) file jackets each on or before the screening date.

1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae
2. Birth Certificate or Affidavit of Age Declaration
3. Educational/Professional Certificates
4. Certificate of Local Government Area of Origin
5. Tax Clearance Certificate for the past three (3) years preceding
6. Evidence of Party Registration
7. Any other relevant document(s)
