CrossRiverWatch has obtained a video of the dilapidated staff quarters of Court 2 of the Ogoja Chief Magistrates Court which is facing demolition following an alleged purchase by a former Chairman of the Cross River State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Uko Inaku.
Mr. Inaku was suspended earlier this year by Governor Bassey Otu over an inflation of the payroll of the State, an allegation he denies.

And, Mr. Inaku who is reported to own 90 Degrees, a hotel and leisure outlet which is a stone throw away from the Magistrate Court is said to have purchased the land where the Staff Quarters is located under the administration of Governor Benedict Ayade and now plans to expand his business by demolishing the dilapidated staff quarters.
Staff of the Cross River State Ministry of Justice attached to the Court and in Calabar, declined comments when contacted.
This is the second time in three years the Court is in the news. Mr. Inaku’s demolition plans comes three years after a public outcry forced the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey to shelve similar plans after he acquired the land where the Court itself is situated.
Odey, in his defense, had said he wasn’t aware that the land allocated to him had a Court sited in it and donated money for the renovation of the Magistrate Court 2 with other well meaning Cross Riverians contributing same.
