Alleged Gang Clash In Ikom Leaves Two Dead

By Marvellous Nkanu

An alleged gang clash in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State has left two people dead.

The clash is said to have started on Sunday night at a club where two individuals – one KK and one Aye members (names not gotten at the time of this report), were celebrating their birthdays. The Disk Jockey (DJ) was said to have only acknowledged the KK member, which got the Ayes upset. When an Aye counterpart confronted the DJ, tensions rose, leading to a KK member smashing a bottle on his head.

The sources said in response, the Ayes present in the club attacked the KK with a machete who was hospitalized and later pronounced dead.

In an act of revenge, the KK group laid an ambush and killed an Aye member leaving the LGA tensed.

“The area is now extremely tense, as the conflict has fully escalated. Ayes have vowed to retaliate, while KK members are threatening to continue rolling throughout this week. We urge the security forces to intervene immediately and protect the community.”

Meanwhile, security forces are said to have taken over the affected area.
