The three Nurses arrested and detained by the Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police Force have been released.
They were released a few minutes past 12 noon after over 100 Nurses stormed the command after initially shutting down operations at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.
The trio were arrested on Monday after a relative of a patient who is now deceased claimed that the sim card of the deceased was missing while collecting his effects.

The deceased had been brought in by a good Samaritan who reportedly found him weak and by the roadside and was tended to by the hospital. However, he died after initial medical care.
Simply identified as Joy, Mary, and Deborah, they were arrested while administering care to patients at the Accident and Emergency ward, and spent the night detained in their uniforms with their families left confused and in tears.
The mother of one of the Nurses is said to have lost her voice from crying all throughout the night especially after s legal practitioner had demanded monies to be paid before making a move for their release.

And, on Tuesday morning, colleagues donned their uniforms, marching from the wards to the gate of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital and then to the State Command of the Nigerian Police demanding for their unconditional release.
They were then driven in a bus that conveyed some of the Nurses back to the Teaching Hospital.
