In view of the prevailing security situation in the country, the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu, has directed the cancellation of the 2025 Agbokim Waterfalls Green Marathon.
In a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, states that the Governor’s action is to enable the State Government to adequately prepare and support it multidimensional.
The Governor regrets any inconvenience the cancellation may bring to both the organizers and athletes but assures that subsequent editions will have the touch of Cross River State by making it an event of national pride and attention.
It noted that the state Government is determined to elevate the Agbokim Waterfalls Green Marathon into an event of national pride and global attention once all necessary structures are in place.
