The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) has summoned Calabar based food seller, Loveth Bissong, to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory for questioning over allegations bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal defamation, cyberstalking and cyberbullying.
The Police in the invitation, dated December 1, 2025, with reference number CR: 3000/X/NPF-NCCC/FHQ/ABJ/L-MI/VOL.25/409, said Loveth’s name “featured prominently” in an ongoing investigation.
According to the letter signed by the Director of the NPF-NCCC, CP Henry Uche, the Force requires certain clarifications from her as part of the probe.
The NPF-NCCC explained that the investigation is being handled at its headquarters located at Plot 625, Mission Road, Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District, Abuja, explaining that the invitation is in line with procedural steps to ensure due process and fact-finding in the matter.
While the Police did not state whom she is alleged to have defamed, Miss Bissong was thrust into limelight recently after message exchanges between Ursula Agbor, a suspended broadcaster with the Cross River State owned television and radio station and her became public.
In one of the voice notes, Miss Agbor made derogatory remarks about Miss Bissong.
She later accused her of planning to poison her and one Mr. Justin Ugbong whom she has referred to at different times as a lover, and manager.
The invitation mandates Bissong to appear for an interview with the Assistant Director (Legal) at the NPF-NCCC on Monday, 8th December 2025 by 10AM, warning that her cooperation is “highly solicited” to aid the investigation.
The cybercrime center has increasingly taken on cases involving perceived online defamation, digital harassment, and bullying drawing sharp criticism from different quarters including the Take It Back Movement which has since launched a campaign to repeal the Cybercrimes Act 2024 (as amended), the primary tool of the NPF-NCCC.
