The Cross River State Police Command has issued a public safety advisory warning residents and road users to stay away from landslide-affected areas in Calabar to prevent loss of lives and property.
According to a statement e-signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eitokpah Sunday, the affected locations are Anansa Junction Road, between WAPI Junction and the NNS Victory Jetty axis, and the Marina Resort area behind the Government Presidential Lodge House.
Though the police list is not exhaustive as there have been landslide areas in Calabar, as reported by CrossRiverWatch.
The areas reported by CrossRiverWatch include Ikot Awatim Community in Ikot Ansa; Nsaha Effiom Street, close to the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters, Calabar and in a community known as “Borrow Pit” along Old Stream Road in Edim Otop on Thursday night, July 16, 2026.

The state police Command in the release warned that the affected sites remain dangerous and urged residents not to visit the locations out of curiosity or turn them into gathering or recreational centers, as doing so could hinder emergency response operations and expose them to serious risks.
Parents and guardians are advised to ensure that children and youths keep away from the affected areas, while motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes and obey all traffic and safety instructions issued by security agencies and emergency responders.

The Police appealed to residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with relevant authorities, and promptly report any emergency or suspicious activity through the appropriate channels.
