CrossRiverWatch can authoritatively report that tickets sale for tomorrow’s match between the National Under-20 Football Team, the Flying Eagles and their Burundian counterparts at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, has again generated another fracas between the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Comrade Asu Okang and the Chairman of the Cross River State Sports Commission, Mr. Orok Duke.
CrossRiverWatch gathered that the contract for the printing of the tickets has intensified the battle for supremacy between the duo.
While the State Commissioner for Sports says that his office is responsible for organizing and hosting the match, the Chairman of the Sports Commission insists that the Commission is by law, in charge of all sports activities and related finances.
Our source said, “Asu Okang outsourced the printing to a private body while Orok Duke also outsourced it to the Internal Revenue Service of the State. As we speak there’s a heated arguments as to who prints the tickets and who to sell. ”
At the time of filling this report, the State Security Adviser, Jude Ngaji was in the middle of a meeting with the two trying to settle the disagreement.
When CrossRiverWatch called the State Security Adviser, he confirmed that he was in a meeting with the Commissioner and the Sports Commission Chairman and assured that the matter will be amicably resolved.
It will be recalled that the duo have been involved in this supremacy tussle since their appointments.
