Okoi Obono-Obla, the Special Assistant on Prosecution to President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed angst at those who peddled rumors that he was sacked by the President.
Obla took to his Facebook page Thursday, to react to the story published by one online portal which investigations by CrossRiverWatch revealed was opened only to publish the story in what some say is an attempt to take to the gutters, Obla’s personality.
“Some malicious, vexatious, and demented people are peddling the falsehood that President Muhammadu Buhari has removed me from my position as Special Assistant on Prosecution, Federal Ministry of Justice” Obla wrote, adding that, “Nothing can be farther from the truth! It is a figment of the fertile imagination of detractors and bad belle people! I remain the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Federal Ministry of Justice”.
Continuing, he went on to list some positions he currently holds to include: “Secretary, Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee, Member, National Prosecution Coordinating Committee and Member, Constitutional and Electoral Reform Committee”.
Also, Obla who urged friends and well wishers to “disregard and discount the antics of wailing detractors”, added that, “The President has also graciously and as a clear manifestation of the confidence he has on me, nominated me as Non-Executive Commissioner to represent the South-South Region in the prestigious and strategic Nigerian Communication Commission, the regulator of the telecommunication industry in the country”.
Unconfirmed information reaching CrossRiverWatch suggests that some of Governor Ben Ayade’s appointees sponsored the propaganda as the story has imprints of their writing style, finesse, language and choice of words.
