Residents around 8 miles axis of Calabar Municipal local government area are currently at risk of an explosion and fire outbreak following the fall of a truck carrying Kerosene at the Scanobo section of the Calabar-Odukpani federal highway.

Residents are said to be scooping the Kerosene contents off the tanker and are risk of an explosion as the truck fell under electricity distribution cables.
An eyewitness said the truck was loaded with over 33,000 liters of Kerosene and said that section of the road has been given a nickname by residents and commuter.
“Residents and commuters of the city have complained bitterly about the devil point, now known as the point of death,” said the eyewitness (names withheld) who also called on the State Emergency Management Agency, NUPENG, the Federal Road Safety Corps “and other respective bodies to clear the fuel carrier to curb the danger being exposed by the tanker.”
The road had failed recently with commuters complaining but following emergency intervention by the state, became motorable for about 96hours before it began failing again.
