Cross River Government Reacts To Law Officers Strike, Says Association Is Illegal, Promises To Improve Workers Welfare (AUDIO)

By Margaret John

The Special Adviser on Labor Matters to the Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, Mr. Effiong Ita, has maintained that the strike embarked upon by the Cross River State chapter of the Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN) is “illegal as the body is not registered according to the Nigeria Law.”

Mr. Effiong stood his ground while speaking as a guest on “The Dialogue With Agba Jalingo” on Sunday on Hit 95.9FM, Calabar.

He added that as public servants, if the Law Officers want benefits like that of the Magistrates, they should simply switch over to the Magistrate cadre.

He concluded by assuring that the State Government will do all it takes to improve on the welfare of its workforce but will not be taken for granted.
