It was love in the air over the weekend as Mountain Cinema Nigeria CEO, Inok Frank Akpeke tied the nuptial knot with his long time partner, Veronica Unyoushu.
The Solemnization of Holy Matrimony took place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chaplaincy, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar.
The event attracted family, friends, colleagues and associates who were all present to add glamour to the event which the officiating Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Bekomson admonished the newly wedded couple to at all-time look up to the God for a peaceful and fruitful marriage.
According to the Priest, “You have come together in this Church so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of the Priest and the congregation, your families and friends. Christian marriage is a sacred union which enriches in natural love. Church marriage binds those who enter this covenant to be faithful to each other forever.”
The reception took place immediately at the UNICAL Hotel and Conference Center with opening remarks from the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Paul Adah.
In his opening speech, Mr. Adah poured encomiums on the groom and praised his resilience especially as it relates to the upholding the Obudu culture. His words, “Mr. Francis Akpeke is an ambitious son of Bette in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State, a hardcore traditionalist, the advocate of culture who is always in search of neglected facts of nature and workability of culture, tourism and entertainment in the 21st century”.
He urged the couple to respect the mutual bond which brought them together, as “these is the key to a thriving and successful marriage. A woman is God’s sent helper to a man, she is like a merchant ship that goes to a foreign country to bring in goods”.
Speaking also at the occasion was the former Cross River Commissioner for Youths and Sports who is the CEO of Hit 95.9 FM Calabar Mr. Patrick Ugbe said, “The first time two people enter into a relationship, they both feel happy and emotionally stabile, they also feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility. However involving in a relationship is one of the most taxing yet fulfilling, and frustrating yet rewarding tasks any human can attempt; for every relationship is built basically on expectation.”
He prayed for God’s blessings upon the newly joined couple and urged them to ensure love remains the basis of their union.
In his vote of thanks, the groom, Mr. Frank Akpeke expressed gratitude to God almighty for making the day worthwhile.
He also thanked his family, friends and well-wishers who in spite of their busy schedules made the day colorful.
