The National Association of Efik Eburutu Students’ World Wide recently inaugurated its executive council to pilot the affairs of the union for the 2013/2014 academic session.

The inauguration ceremony which held at Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH), Calabar campus was chaired by Comrade Emmanuel Asuquo, emeritus president, National Association of Bakassi Students’ World Wide.

The chairman represented by Comrade Essien–Ita Archibong said that he is happy to be part of the event which marks a new era.

“I’m pleased to witness this event, I encourage us all to support this new cadre of leaders we credibly elected with all the support needed to ensure a smooth and productive administration. To our new leaders I urge each of you in your capacity to always maintain the prestige given to you by your brothers and sisters, abide by the principle of equality and leading by serving. May God help you discharge your duties with all manner of decorum and dexterity” he said.

The newly inaugurated president, Comrade Prince Effiong Okon pledged to lead by example and called for the support of all and sundry.

He said: “I thank all of you who have deemed it fit to attend this inauguration; I pledge this day that my government will not be one of sectional, bias and self aggrandizement oriented. For the confidence you have to vote me into this prestigious office, I will never indulge myself in any wanton activity that will be detrimental to us and I urge those that lost to queue behind us and give us all their ideas to drive this union to a greater height as it is our collective effort that will make the house grow”.

Earlier, the outgoing president, Comrade Prince Eso thanked the congressmen for their loyal followership during his reign in office and for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the election process.

The event which was supported by Indomie Instant Noodles featured cultural displays by the Ekpe traditional masquerade.

    As the Director of Welfare of CRUTECH chapter, it was a good thing to participate in d inauguration ceremony n pray that God who has a goodwill for Efik sons n daughters striving to become prominent should help them to do so lawfully with God fear n also help d new administration a to add nutrients of positive posterity before leaving d office…

    Its quite unfortunate that, in a dispensation of high speed technology of our age,our people are still living analogly…not linking themselves to d www even when they cant travel by flight to their desired destinations. Let ur effects be seen,ur presence n feelings be felt through media like these.
