INSECURITY: Our Problem Is Not Having Armed Security, We’ll Bring Ex-Service And Mobile Armed Men – CRUTECH SUG President

The President, Student Union Government (SUG), Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) James Ogbe has attributed security challenges faced in the university is as the result of absence of armed security personnel.

James stated this while responding to questions from the CrossRiverWatch on issues concerning students welfare and what his administration holds for the students.

He said: “We don’t have armed security, that is our major problem. We don’t have armed security that can curb this insecurity issue, but as I speak with you, modalities are being put in place to see how we will bring in Ex-service men as well as Mobile armed security men.”

He revealed that at least up to four or five persons had being arrested over three weeks and are currently under the Nigeria Police custody.

The President who retired by saying that the problem in Government is the issue of continuity, further pointed out that his administration is focusing more on students welfare and initiating innovative projects that can help develop student in all area of studies.
