Aero Limits Calabar Route, Fly Kano And Sokoto With ‘Cally’ Aircraft

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Nigerian airline, Aero contractors is flying a triangular route between Lagos, Kano and Sokoto airports with an aircraft leased by the Cross River State government.

This follows the temporal suspension of operations by the airline on the Lagos – Calabar and Abuja – Calabar route.

The airline restricted daily flights to Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. However, there has been no flight to or out of Calabar from either Abuja or Lagos this week.

This will continue until Wednesday next week with a scheduled flight from Lagos to Calabar. After that, the next flight will be on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

By the upcoming week, there are flights scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The airline is using one of the two Boeing 737 – 300’s leased by the Cross River State from Magnetic leasing for a virtual airline, “Cally Air” operated by Aero contractors.

Aero was selected ahead of initial partners Dana Airlines since the State is yet to obtain an Air Operators Certificate from the Nigerian government.

Data from FlightRadar and Ch-aviation shows that the plane currently used is the one registered 5N-BYR.
