Entertainers in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Tuesday joined music lovers across the world to celebrate the 2022 edition of the world music day.
Celebrated annually since 1982, the day seeks to recognize the impact of music on human lives. And, musical artistes, dancers, producers as well as other actors in the industry participated in activities to share the message that music is the language of the soul and should not be debased, devalued or considered insignificant in any society.
The celebration commenced with a ‘city walk’ from Mobil junction along the Murtala Muhammed highway, to Atekong junction along the Ndidem Usang-Iso road.
The activities culminated with a night concert at Tata-Fish, at Atekong with entertainers like Challex De Boss, Tiger Man, Cucci, Upper X, G-kross, Irek Dee among others taking turns to thrill audiences with tunes that got the attention of attendees and passers-by.
There were special appearances by the Special Assistant on Entertainment to Governor Ben Ayade, Effiom Trombone as well as comedian, Last Prophet, MC Loco Smith and Joe Essien.
The celebration climaxed with an after party at Afrikana Suites.
