Great Cabal Organization Decries Years Of Electricity Blackout In Bakassi

A community-based organization, Great Cabal Organization has decried over 5 years of electricity blackouts in Bakassi.

The group Chairman, Elder Edet Bassey Okon made known their plight during the inauguration of its executive council members in Ikang Town. 

He said Bakassi has faced the longest blackout, an occurrence that has hindered businesses and other activities.

“Look at the situation of things in the country now. The fuel price is up. Prices of all commodities are high. In this same situation, there is no power supply in Bakassi for over 5 years. We are really suffering and it is affecting us,” he added. 

Speaking on the vision of the organization, the newly inaugurated Secretary, Mr. Ette Etim Effiom, said “We are a group of businessmen and women who come together to address the physical and social needs of our community.” 

The group further appealed for the government’s intervention to look into the restoration of light in Bakassi local government area as businesses are currently suffering a heavy setback. 

The inauguration was conducted by Barr. Emmanuel Effiom. 

Other members of the new executive council include Vice Chairman – Moses Benjamin, Assistant Secretary- Akparawa Goodnews, Treasurer – Saviour Nyong, PRO – John Bernard, Assistant PRO – Joshua Augustine, Auditor – Edet-Obong Edet, Organizing Secretary – Idara Okon, Financial Secretary – Patrick Okon, Welfare Officer – Ekom Jah, Assistant Welfare Officer – Joseph J. Jimmy, and Women Leader – Eno John Bernard.
