Cross River-born Major General Emmanuel Ejim-Emekah has been redeployed to take over as Director of Operations, at Army Headquarters, Abuja.
He was in December 2018, promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army and in December 2022 promoted to the rank of Major General.
Major General Emmanuel is the first to hail from Bewkarra Local Government Area of Cross River State to be elevated to the rank.
He said, “To the glory of the Almighty God, I wish to thank the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has through the approval of the Army Council and recommendation of the Chief of Army Staff elevated me to the enviable and highly coveted rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army.
“I thank all my senior colleagues, particularly my boss, the Commandant of the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General IM Yusuf, CFR, and the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal AI Amodu, for their mentorship and direction.”
Major General Emmanuel studied at the Nigerian Defence Academy, 42 regular course, Mogadishu Battalion in 1995.
Also, he is a product of the National Defence University, Pakistan in 2017 as well as served in the Nigerian Army War College.
